Dubai is the one of the seven emirates that comprises the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the second largest of them. Dubai's total area is around 3,800sq km and is situated on the banks of the Dubai Creeks off the Persian Gulf. The Dubai gulf is home to sub tropical and arid climate. Rainfall is scarce and irregular. The temperature variation is high with up to 40°in summers. The Dubai gulf area is mostly surrounded by deserts with sand dunes ranging from white color along the coast to a reddish inland near the mountains.The Dubai as we know today is a result of the past 25 years of rapid pace of industrialization. In early days Dubai was a sea port and famous in the entire Persian gulf region. The Dubai gulf region has grown gradually from a fishing port where life was centered on the Dubai gulf coast for fishing, pearls and sea trade. The dawn of 21st century is watching the Dubai gulf prosper to attract worldwide attention and brought visitors to its souks, free trade and living.
The Dubai gulf area is now home to the most famous man made structure on the beach of Jumeirah-The man made island. This structure is visible from the space and is shaped in the form of a palm tree. It houses some of the most luxurious commercial and residential buildings and a popular tourist attraction.
